New Zealander Julian Dean stood on the podium at the finish of the 2011 Tour de France in Paris today.
Dean took his place as a member of the winning team - the American Garmin-Cervelo squad of nine.
Garmin-Cervelo finished a clear victor in the teams event over the three weeks of the race, beating Leopard-Trek (Luxembourg) and AG2R La Mondiale (France).
Dean had made a name for himself as the lead-out man for his team's top sprinter.
