New Zealand cyclists returned home yesterday with a golden glow from the world junior track cycling championships in Kazakhstan.
Palmerston North's Campbell Stewart won two golds in the scratch race and the omnium, while Auckland's Bryony Botha, Michaela Drummond from Palmerston North and Holly White and Maddy Park, both from Auckland, won the team pursuit title. Park also won bronze in the 2000m individual pursuit; Canterbury's Olivia Podmore and Emma Cumming of Southland took silver in the women's team sprint; while Podmore also won bronze in the 500m time trial.
New Zealand finished third overall behind Germany and Australia.
