National champion Clinton Avery was in dominating form at round three of the national mountain bike cross-country series at Rotorua yesterday.
Rotorua's Avery was a massive 7m 10s faster than second-placed Stuart Houltham of Wellington over the 7.8km course at Redwoods.
In the women's race, Dunedin's national champion, Anja McDonald, also rode strongly to finish 2m 06s ahead of series leader Fiona MacDermid, of Palmerston North, with Kaytee Boyd of Auckland in third.
