Sarah Walker finished sixth in the final of the International Cycling Union BMX supercross competition in Beijing yesterday.
Walker, from Kawerau, who won the cruiser class and was second in the Olympic division at the world championships in Canada last month, never recovered from a slow start.
World champion Shanaze Reade (Great Britain) won in 36.923s. Marc Willers (Cambridge) crashed in the quarter-final of the men's competition.
