New Zealander Jack Bauer has finished fifth in the Tour of Britain.
Bauer was as high as fourth on the general classification after a third place in the stage three time trial, but slipped a spot in the next stage. However, he held his position following the final eighth stage, a circuit course in central London. Bauer embarked on a breakaway along with five other riders, including fellow Kiwi Shane Archbold, but the sextet were reeled in by the bunch. Archbold received the award for the most aggressive rider of the stage.
Bauer finished 1min 13secs behind overall race winner Sir Bradley Wiggins.
