VIENNA (AP) Austrian cyclist Thomas Rohregger is retiring after knee and wrist injuries and a viral illness kept him sidelined for most of the season.
The 30-year-old Rohregger, who last rode for RadioShack-Leopard, tells the Austria Press Agency "I've noticed I am not 100 percent at it anymore. It's important for me to quit at a good level."
Rohregger says he has been offered a new contract but "other things have become more important. My personal future has priority now."
Rohregger won the 2008 Tour of Austria before joining Team Milram for the following two seasons. He was part of the RadioShack-Leopard team that won the time trial at the Vuelta in 2011.
