Crusaders loose forward Pete Samu has signed with the Brumbies for the 2019 Super Rugby season, committing himself to Australian Rugby.
The 26-year-old loose forward was born in Melbourne and is a member of the champion Crusaders squad.
Samu is expected to be named in the Wallabies squad to play Ireland on Wednesday, although it remains unclear whether New Zealand Rugby will release him with their blessing.
Samu is eligible to play for New Zealand under his current contract, and New Zealand Rugby would have to release him if he's to play for the Wallabies this year, including during next month's three-test home series against Ireland.
Samu played Sydney club rugby with Randwick before getting his Super Rugby start with the Crusaders in 2016.
