New Zealand No 1 Paddy Chapman broke a local drought yesterday when he won the New Zealand Open croquet title in Wanganui. Chapman, 22, overcame defending champion Stephen Mulliner of England to become the first New Zealander to win the event in six years. The Adelaide-based Cantabrian beat Mulliner 26-0tp 0-26sxp 26-2tp 26-0tp to claim his first Open crown.
