Only three players remain unbeaten going into the final round of singles qualifying play at the New Zealand Open championships in Wanganui.
Evergreen Bob Jackson, shooting for his 15th singles crown, North Island Open champion and fellow Aucklander Robert Lowe, and British-based 1994 champion Aaron Westerby, formerly of Waikato, were all unbeaten in their sections with one round remaining before the top 16 play off for the championship.
Jackson's hardest games were against former doubles champions Terry Walker, of Dannevirke, 26-20, and Wairarapa's David Wickham, 26-21, but he managed to collect triple peels in both victories.
Wickham, with one loss, and John Versey, of Hawkes Bay, are in line for the other qualifying place from the group.
Lowe, recently named in the New Zealand transtasman test side, carded four triple peels in his six victories, with his hardest game a 26-16 win over Greg Whymark, of Australia.
Lowe is unbeaten in singles and doubles at the tournament.
