New Zealand were on the receiving end of a decisive loss to Australia at the MacRobertson Shield quadrangular world croquet teams championship at West Palm Beach in Florida yesterday.
Australia won the five-day test 15-6. The other first-round encounter saw titleholders Britain, seeking a fifth successive win in the event, down the United States by the same margin.
