Glenfield Rovers defender Bridgette Armstrong is set to follow her father Ron as a full international after her call-up to the national women's soccer team for next week's one-off game with Japan in Tokyo. Her selection in the Football Ferns caps an amazing year in which she came back from injury to play for the national side at the Fifa Under-17 and Under-20 World Cups. Armstrong is joined in John Herdman's 17-strong squad by fellow debutantes Elle Weibe and Sarah Gregorious.
