The New Zealand women's cricket side have missed out on a spot in the World Cup final after a 15-run defeat to England in Mumbai overnight (NZT).
The White Ferns needed to win the match by a good margin and hope Australia beat the West Indies to progress to the final but neither happened as England and the West Indies triumphed.
The West Indies, who qualified for the Super Sixes after finishing third in group A, beat Australia by eight runs to reach their first World Cup final - they will play Australia in Sunday's final. New Zealand and England will meet again in Friday's third and fourth playoff.
Chasing 267 to win, New Zealand were well placed at 191-2 heading into the final 10 overs but could manage only 251-9.
Amy Satterthwaite scored 103, her second ODI ton, but when she fell in the 44th over New Zealand wickets became more frequent as their chances of victory faded.
