White Ferns opening bowler Nicola Browne was nursing a nasty facial injury after putting her tooth through her lip in a freakish incident during New Zealand's Rose Bowl cricket loss to Australia in Brisbane yesterday.
Browne was hit on the face by a wayward throw when running between the wickets, forcing her to retire hurt for six as New Zealand came up 85 runs short of Australia's imposing 252 for nine in the fourth match.
The Australians lead the series 4-0 after some close finishes.
The incident topped a forgettable day for Browne who conceded 17 runs off three overs, including a 12-ball third over which included five wides and a head-high no-ball.
