ADELAIDE - Rain is threatening to ruin the final day of the second cricket test between Australia and the West Indies in Adelaide.
The test hangs in the balance with the Windies leading by 296 runs with two second innings wickets remaining.
But heavy rain fell overnight and is continuing this morning.
Australia leads the three-test series one-nil but would have to defy a century of history to triumph - no side has scored more than 239 runs in a final innings to win an Adelaide test for more than 100 years.
The weather bureau has forecast isolated showers to clear and a maximum temperature of 21degC, but the city is shrouded by thick cloud with accompanying rain.
The third test starts in Perth on December 16.
