Former New Zealand Cricket director of coaching Martin Horton has died in England aged 76.
Horton, a former England international who represented Northern Districts, scored 19,945 first-class runs and took 825 wickets in a career spanning 19 years.
He worked for NZC from 1967 for 17 years, and
NZC chief executive Justin Vaughan said his contribution to New Zealand cricket should not be underestimated.
"He is credited to building the skills of the players who formed the base of New Zealand's successes during the `golden era' of the 1970s and 80s," Vaughan said.
