KEY POINTS:
Celebrity visits are not uncommon in Antigua.
It was just two months ago that Britney Spears made her fleeting day-long visit to a rehabilitation centre here. In particular the Crossroads rehab centre owned by none other than Eric Clapton, who also has a house here. As do lots of other big names who enjoy the sun and cheap living.
Prince Harry's visit this week was a long-rumoured event in British media circles. He was coming, then he wasn't. He was with Chelsea, he had a new girlfriend - the tabloid journalists here had not been as excited since Freddie Flintoff's drunken pedalo escapades in St Lucia.
And he did finally show but in the end neither him nor Chelsea were very interested in the cricket.
With Harry heading off to the Iraq frontlines in a week or so, it was obvious they needed to get a room, not a public grandstand.
But fair enough. Most people going off to war would be doing the same given the chance to swan around the Caribbean in a private jet with their gorgeous girlfriend.
The local celebrities are not so forthcoming with their appearances.
A couple of days ago the media were invited to play a game of beach cricket against the Legends of the Caribbean - a team captained by Sir Viv Richards and featuring other greats like Ritchie Richardson and Curtly Ambrose.
And so the very excited media were all ready to go, dressed up in their special lime green team shirts, all set for the 3pm kick off.
In the excitement they forgot what they had all been moaning about for the past two weeks, that nothing starts on time or really goes according to plan here.
After standing around for an hour the game finally did start but it was minus one major celebrity, Curtly Ambrose.
At the last minute he elected not to show for the team he had been so heavily promoted as playing in. The cricket journalists were gutted.
Curtly sent the message that he was sorry, he was just too shy to appear in front of so many media.
However he hoped we had a good game regardless of his no show.
We did. And for the record, the Legends won by several wickets. They didn't even need Curtly to do it.
