Sri Lanka opening batsman Upul Tharanga tested positive for a banned substance at this year's Cricket World Cup, according to reports.
Tharanga is said to have failed a drugs test after playing against the Black Caps, the Guardian reports. The two sides met twice during the tournament, during group stage and in the semifinals.
Tharanga scored just three in his side's 112-run group A win and 30 in the semifinal victory.
The opener scored two centuries during the tournament and finished as the fifth top runs scorer.
Sri Lanka Cricket and the ICC have yet to confirm the reports that Tharanga tested positive for Prednisolone.
Prednisolone is often used as an asthma medication but is a banned under the World Anti-Doping Agency code.
