It seems that fans are not the only ones disenchanted with how the ICC is currently running international cricket.
The Federation of International Cricketers' Associations (FICA) has released the findings of a survey of international cricketers that highlights there is a lack of faith in how the ICC governs.
Fifty six per cent of those surveyed after this year's World Cup are not confident in the ICC's ability to govern the game.
New Zealand players' association executive director Heath Mills says there are several reasons for this.
He says there are a number of decisions the ICC has made that make no sense to the players.
He says the problem lies with the ICC's executive and chief executive committees because those committees are comprised of ICC full members and therefore they are worried about self-interest rather than the good of the game.
Mr Mills says the board needs to be completely independent in the same way as the New Zealand Cricket board.
The results of the survey also found a staggering 87 per cent felt the World Cup was too long, although 64 per cent supported the competition's current format.
