Australia hopes to wrap up a joint bid with New Zealand to host the 2011 Cricket World Cup, with the deadline for submissions just over a week away. Officials are finalising a joint proposal in opposition to a bid from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Australia had been considering a stand-alone bid if New Zealand did not want to join forces, but Cricket Australia public affairs manager Peter Young said the joint proposal was the preferred option.
