KEY POINTS:
Luuk van Troost should be careful of what he wishes for.
The Netherlands captain said last week he was desperate for cricket to gain more exposure in the Dutch media to counteract its overwhelming obsession with soccer.
"It's all soccer in Holland - soccer, soccer and soccer; and then some hockey and other sports, but cricket is not in the top 10," Van Troost said.
After South Africa batsman Herschelle Gibbs hit six successive sixes in one over on Friday to create an international cricket first as the Netherlands lost by 221 runs, Van Troost's wish came true - sort of.
The Dutch press agency duly reported that Van Troost's team lost by the third-greatest margin in World Cup history, and Daan van Bunge's nightmarish over was picked up by all major papers.
"The Dutch cricketers were massively defeated at the World Cup in the Caribbean," it reported. "The Dutch bowlers were ill-prepared in the battle against the South Africans, with Daan van Bunge the most unfortunate."
