KEY POINTS:
Paceman Mark Gillespie and batsman Ross Taylor are both fit to play tomorrow but are unlikely to be risked in a match New Zealand are expected to win.
Gillespie has recovered from the viral infection that attacked the nerves in his right shoulder and Taylor was moving freely at practice yesterday after pulling a hamstring during the group phase and missing the West Indies game.
However, neither is likely to be called on given the strength of New Zealand's batting and bowling and the need to ensure they receive the maximum possible recovery time before arriving in Grenada.
There, New Zealand will face their stiffest challenge to date - consecutive games against the highly fancied Sri Lankans, South Africans and Australians.
The suggestion is that both players will target the game against Ireland in Guyana next Tuesday in the hope of getting some game time under their belts before the business end of the tournament starts at St Georges.
"After these next two matches [against Bangladesh and Ireland] we've got some fairly big games and it would be good to get some match-play before then," Gillespie said at the weekend.
"But I'm confident that I'll feature at some stage," he said.
"I've just got to get up to speed as quick as I can, and I'm looking forward to my next game - I just hope it's sooner than later."
Earlier in the day, coach John Bracewell also confirmed Taylor's improvement but said he was loath to risk him too soon.
