In a Q and A with Martin Devlin of Radio Sport, McCullum put the strong win against England down to his side's strong bowling performance. He said the break between the game last Friday and this Saturday's match was a good chance for the players to re-connect with families.
His son had asked to go to the England v Scotland game on one of his days off, so he took him along. "I said, 'You've got to be joking me' ... And I ended up spending about three hours watching the game at Hagley Park," he said, drawing much laughter from the crowd.
Hundreds of people queued to get autographs from the players on T-shirts, posters and cricket bats.
Black Caps fans Parmod Dutta and Krishna Nagam came down to Britomart for the chance to get some signatures from the players.
The pair work in IT in the city.
"The ceremony was very nice," Mr Nagam said. "I got some signatures but not all of them."
Mr Dutta got Sir Richard Hadlee to sign a ball. "I got the greatest [signature] of all," he said.

The pair have got tickets to the first semi-final, and hope to be seeing the Black Caps there.
Dutch cricket fan Robbin De Jong, 28, said: "I've seen almost every game. The atmosphere here is good especially with the stands here. There's been a good mix of tourists and locals, you meet lots of people."
He had a ticket to the game at Eden Park and was looking forward to the game.
"You've got two teams both in form and the winner could win the Cup."
