KEY POINTS:
West Indies batsman Kieron Pollard could face sanctions after he smashed his bat into a door in frustration after being given out leg before wicket against New Zealand during the third one-day cricket international played at Westpac Stadium in Wellington today.
Pollard was upset to being out by English umpire Mark Benson to the bowling of Daniel Vettori for one as the West Indies crumbled to 128 all out in the 42nd over.
Replays indicated Pollard could have been unlucky considering he was struck while stretching quite far forward down the pitch.
The West Indies allrounder, who is struggling to keep his place in the side after scoring just six runs in the two previous matches, swung his bat in disgust as he walked off.
He then lashed out at a door, smashing a glass panel as he made his way down the players' tunnel.
International Cricket Council match referee Javagal Srinath of India is expected to review the incident.
Vettori took four for 20 to give New Zealand an opportunity to square the five-match series 1-1 before the fourth game in Auckland on Saturday.
