New Zealand's under-19 cricket team has made a promising start to their under-19 World Cup build-up by thrashing Pakistan by five wickets in a one-day warm-up match in Blenheim yesterday. New Zealand overhauled Pakistan's 221 for nine in the 38th over, captain Carl Cachopa leading the charge with an unbeaten 76. Jimmy Neesham made 55 and Corey Anderson 39 as New Zealand coasted home on 226 for five in 37.2 overs. Bevan Small took three for 33 while Doug Bracewell got two for 45.
