Daryl Tuffey will continue to play his cricket for Northern Districts.
The former Black Caps bowler was rumoured to be considering a move to Auckland, like teammate Scott Styris, but has opted to remain with Northern Districts.
Except for Styris, Northern Districts have retained all of their New Zealand Cricket-contracted players for the next domestic season -- Daniel Vettori, Hamish Marshall, James Marshall and Tuffey.
"We're pleased to have them all back with us," Northern Districts chief executive David Cooper said.
"We're proud of their development and it's something we can continue working on with them."
In March Tuffey was censured and fined $1000 by New Zealand Cricket for his involvement in a sex video late last year.
A form slump earlier this season had him jettisoned from the Black Caps squad.
