WELLINGTON - The three members of the New Zealand cricket squad returning home from India have been added to the North Island and South Island teams to play the touring England A side next month.
Medium-fast bowler Andrew Penn, opening batsman Matthew Bell and offspinner Paul Wiseman, who were not required for the one-day international series against India, are late additions to the two sides.
Penn will replace Scott Styris, who has joined the New Zealand squad for the one-dayers in India, in the North Island team.
Bell has taken James Marshall's place in the North Island team, while Wiseman has replaced Mark Jefferson in the South Island team.
Otago batsman Chris Gaffaney is another late addition to South Island, replacing Gary Stead, who has also joined the New Zealand team as a replacement for the injured Craig McMillan.
Otago's Robert Lawson will captain the South Island in the absence of Stead.
Mike Shrimpton and Denis Aberhart were named yesterday as coaches of North Island and South Island respectively.
Shrimpton, a former test player, coached the New Zealand women's team to a Shell Rosebowl one-day series win over Australia last season.

The team will be captained by former England player Mark Alleyne, coached by Martyn Moxon and managed by Mike Gatting, two former England test players.
