Cricket: Taylor delighted over cricket job

Former test captain Mark Taylor said yesterday he was delighted over his appointment as as a director to the board of Cricket Australia.

"Now that I've been given this opportunity I'm hoping to make a contribution and help ensure that Australian cricket continues to be successful."

Waldron to join Melbourne Storm

News Ltd says its appointment of respected administrator Brian Waldron as Melbourne Storm chief executive is a sign of its commitment to the NRL club.

Melbourne yesterday announced Waldron, the former chief executive of AFL club St Kilda, would join the Storm on November 1.

Waldron is credited with turning around the Saints during his five years with the club, and News Ltd - which owns the Storm - is banking on him working the same magic.
