Sri Lanka's tailenders helped their side to a slight advantage after day two of their test against England in Kandy.
Sri Lanka were 278-8 at one stage batting first but put on 104 runs for the last two wickets to finish up all out for 382.
Tillakaratne Dilshan top scored with 63 and Dinusha Fernando hit 51 in a scorecard where almost every player chipped in with some runs.
Left arm English spinner Ashley Giles claimed a five-wicket bag with figures of 5-116 off 37.4 overs.
In reply, England was 163-4 at stumps with Graham Thorpe at the crease on 20 and Paul Collingwood 19 not out.
