NAGPUR - Australian cricketer Andrew Symonds says he is ready to move on after having alleged racial taunts directed his way by sections of the Indian crowd last week.
Australian officials have lodged a complaint after spectators taunted Symonds with monkey noises in Thursday's match in Vadodara.
Symonds broke his silence with Australian media and said he was prepared to move on from the incident ahead of today's one-day international clash at Nagpur.
"I don't know what is going to transpire from what happened to me the other day," he wrote in News Limited newspapers.
"Look, you have to be pretty thick-skinned to survive in the Australian dressing room, let alone out on the paddock.
"I am a pretty liberal sort of bloke. But racism is a big issue in world sport, not just cricket.
"It is a sensitive issue and guys have been made an example of in the past, but what do you do in this instance if it's coming from the crowd?
"I'm not allowed to comment on exactly what went on, but I'm not the most deadly serious bloke.
"Life goes on."
Australia have the chance to further stamp their authority over India in today's one-day match.
The tourists, who lead the best of seven series 3-1 after the opening match was washed out in Bangalore, will be eager to further dent the confidence of the Indians before their return contests in Australia this summer.
Skipper Ricky Ponting said his men were aiming to continue piercing the Indian top order with the home side having only made one solid start in the first five matches
Australia's fast bowling pair of Brett Lee and Mitchell Johnson have been in devastating touch with India only passing a dozen runs without loss in Chandigarh last Monday.
The solid platform led to India's only victory of the series, an eight-run win at the Sector 16 Stadium.
"As you have seen in every game when we have taken early wickets they have really struggled to come back from it," said Ponting.
"Hopefully we can do the same thing again."
Matthew Hayden had a fitness test on his sore hip yesterday at the Vidarbha C A Ground but the team will not be announced until just before the match.
Australia are expected to draft in Stuart Clark and Ben Hilfenhaus for the final one-day match in Mumbai if they win today.
