KEY POINTS:
The five-day State Championship cricket final between Wellington and Canterbury got underway at noon today after damp conditions forced a delay to the scheduled 10.30am start.
Wellington captain Michael Parlane won the toss and sent Canterbury in to bat first.
Canterbury, who need an outright win for the title, have named an unchanged team from their draw against Otago last week.
Wellington, who only need to draw the match to claim the national title, have made two changes.
English seam bowler Charlie Shreck has returned home for the County championship season, and been replaced by Dewayne Bowden in the attack. Luke Woodcock replaces BJ Cook.
