Following India's decision not to tour New Zealand in 2007, Sri Lanka has confirmed they will return here next January, replacing India and giving local fans something to cheer about.
Sri Lankan CEO Dilip Mendis said there is a tour schedule for New Zealand early next year.
Mendis said the tour will feature test and one day matches.
He said the tour will be ratified next month at an ICC meeting in Dubai.
