KEY POINTS:
Central Districts batsman Mathew Sinclair is back in contention for international honours after posting 109 against Northern Districts in the State Championship on Wednesday.
Sinclair, an enigma at international level, was the top scoring of all New Zealand first-class batsmen last season with a total of 723 runs and has carried that form into this season.
The New Zealand test team to play Sri Lanka is named on Saturday, with all eyes on the revolving door selection policy for the opening batsmen.
Sinclair says he determined is to force his way back into the side, whether it be opening or in the middle order.
He says there are two test matches and 21 one dayers this season, so it is in the back of his mind, especially with the World Cup next year.
Sinclair says with more experience under his belt he will be able to transfer his domestic record, where he averages 47 for his career, into internationals, where he averages 36.
