Persistant rain in Dunedin has forced the HRV Cup match between Otago and Canterbury to be called off shortly before 8.00pm.
Both teams collected two competition points each despite only playing 12 overs at University Oval with the home team reaching 78 runs for the loss of four wickets.
Captain Brendon McCullum made a quick 37 runs with Aaron Redmond scoring 22 runs off 29 balls.
Canterbury spinner Rob Nicol picked up two wickets to peg back Otago with Matt Henry and Yasir Arafat nabbing a wicket each before rain intervened.
The abandoned match sees Canterbury move through to 20 points, six clear of third placed Northern Knights while the Otago Volts move above the Central Stags into fourth.
