PERTH - Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq won the toss and sent Australia into bat in the first cricket test at the Waca Ground in Perth today.
Australia will start their innings in fine conditions against Pakistan pacemen Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Sami, who will be out to exploit a fast and bouncy pitch.
Australia resisted the temptation to play a four-man pace attack and named Brett Lee as 12th man.
Pakistan named an extra paceman to support their openers, and left-armer Mohammad Khalil will make his test debut.
