Pakistan's inspirational captain Misbah-ul-Haq is on his way home due to a serious illness in his family.
Misbah, who was captaining Pakistan for the 50th time in the Christchurch test, which ended in an eight-wicket loss to New Zealand in Christchurch today, was on the tour with his family but word reached the team this morning that his father-in-law is seriously ill and in an intensive care unit in Pakistan.
No replacement has been named yet for the one remaining tour match, the second test starting in Hamilton on Friday. Opener Azhar Ali has stepped up to lead the side.
