Otago have lost their second round Plunket Shield match against Central Districts today after being dismissed for just 63 runs in their second innings to lose by an innings and six runs.
Otago lost nine wickets for just 34 runs after starting day three at Bert Sutcliffe Oval on 29 for one. Central bowler Michael Mason finished with 6-20. Craig Cumming top-scored for Otago with 24 as only three Otago batsmen reached double figures.
They lost their last six wickets for just 10 runs.
The outright win moves Central off the bottom of the table after they drew their opening match with Wellington.
Elsewhere Northern Districts are in the box seat against Wellington. Wellington trail by 404 runs in the second innings with nine wickets in hand. Earlier Northern declared on 608 for nine with Kane Williamson not out on 284.
