New Zealand had a strong morning on the third day of the second test against Bangladesh in Dhaka.
Starting the day at 107 for three, still 175 behind Bangladesh, New Zealand reached 231 for four, with young allrounder Corey Anderson within sight of a maiden test hundred on 75, andpatient Kane Williamson on 56.
The pair's partnership was worth 104. The only wicket to fall in the session was Ross Taylor who, having completed his 21st test 50 in his 50th test, pushed forward defensively to be caught at slip off left arm spinner Shakib al-Hasan.
Anderson was patient for a while, scoring just three from his first 30 balls, but from then on he hit out when the ball demanded punishment, and his next 72 runs came from just 74 balls.
There was the occasional alarm, and even just before lunch Williamson miscued an attempted hook at fast-medium Rubel Hossain which flew just over the wicketkeeper's head.
The batsmen had put New Zealand back into a strong position in a match they need to win to win the two-match series, after the opening game had been drawn in Chittagong.
