Cricket: NZC back Pakistan tour

New Zealand Cricket has reiterated its desire to have Pakistan tour here this summer, despite the cloud of controversy surrounding the team.

Tensions in world cricket are threatening to boil over, following inflammatory comments made by PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt in the wake of spot fixing allegations against the team during its tour of England.

New Zealand Cricket CEO Justin Vaughan says the tour will still go ahead but the ICC needs to act swiftly in its investigations.

Vaughan says uncertainty is putting everyone in limbo.

English great Sir Ian Botham believes Pakistan has a cancerous problem and should be kicked out of the game.
