Wellington took first innings points from their drawn match against Northern Districts in Taupo yesterday.
Northern resumed at 95 for three in reply to Wellington's 269 in the rain-affected match. However, they fell short in their chase and were all out for 210.
Wellington were 57 for one at stumps.
Hamish Marshall and Michael Parlane added an invaluable 73 for the fourth wicket in Northern's innings, Parlane impressing with his 80 off 158 balls, with 12 fours.
Things looked promising for Northern until Matthew Hart was caught behind, giving Jefferson two wickets in his first over for the day.
Robbie Hart was run out and Parlane departed soon after, caught by his brother Neal.
Joseph Yovich fought hard for his 33, but the target was too great.
Of the Wellington bowlers, paceman Iain O'Brien finished with four wickets for 68 and Jefferson three for 38.
