Northern Districts were crowned State Championship cricket winners for the 2006/07 season after today's final against Canterbury ended in a draw.
Both captains called stumps at tea with Northern 258 for two in their second innings at Hamilton's Seddon Park.
Northern needed 374 for the outright win.
As top qualifiers, Northern only needed a draw to secure the championship.
Northern's Alun Evans was unbeaten on 104 with Hamish Marshall, who was recalled into the Black Caps' World Cup squad this morning, not out 80.
