Kenya yesterday named former West Indies allrounder Roger Harper as the new national cricket coach until after the 2007 World Cup.
Harper, the former West Indies national coach, who took his team to the quarter-final of the 2003 World Cup in South Africa, will start his 15-month contract with Kenya on January 20.
Kenya Cricket Association chairman Samir Inamdar said Harper beat five other candidates in the selection process started last year after former coach Andy Moles left suddenly in March.
