Auckland have a new cricket captain with Andrew de Boorder set to take the reins for their third-round Plunket Shield four-day match against Central Districts at Auckland starting tomorrow.
The top order batsman takes over from Kyle Mills, who will join the New Zealand in India ahead of the one-day international series starting on Sunday.
Auckland also lose Mills' fellow pace bowler Daryl Tuffey to the same cause, but are bolstered by the recovery from injury of Michael Bates. Bates sustained a side strain just before the loss to Otago last week but has fully recovered.
Pace bowler Lance Shaw has also been added to the squad.
Auckland team: Andrew de Boorder (captain), Andre Adams, Michael Bates, Brad Cachopa, Colin de Grandhomme, Anaru Kitchen, Colin Munro, Jeet Raval, Gareth Shaw, Lance Shaw, Bhupinder Singh, Greg Todd.
