Canterbury Cricket have released another 1000 tickets for Canterbury's Twenty20 match against South Africa after the initial lot of 2000 tickets were snapped up more than two weeks before the game.
South Africa play Canterbury on February 15 at the Hagley Oval to open their New Zealand tour. The interest has meant Canterbury Cricket reconfigured the ground to allow another 1000 fans to attend.
"We saw and heard how the spectators at the double header [Action Cricket women's final and Canterbury HRV Cup match on January 15] enjoyed being able to bring their blankets and deck chairs and, therefore, we have decided to dispense with 1000 grandstand seats and open up the grass area,'' Canterbury Cricket chief executive Lee Germon said. "This will enable more people to enjoy the match in an enjoyable, relaxed fashion.''
