Cricket: McGrath named in preliminary squad

Glenn McGrath has been named in Australia's 30-man preliminary squad for the International Cricket Council Champions Trophy in October - but he is no certainty to make the trip to India.

Cricket Australia said talks between national selectors and the pace bowling great were continuing about whether he should play in the one-day tournament or turn out for Pura Cup matches as he prepares for the Ashes series.

McGrath, 36, skipped the tours of South Africa and Bangladesh earlier this year after his wife Jane suffered a recurrence of cancer.
