Brendon McCullum has a chance to bat himself back into form against England this weekend.
The 20-year-old has been recalled into the Otago team for the three-day match starting tomorrow in Queenstown.
McCullum played seven one-day matches for New Zealand this summer, only twice reaching double figures.
Before he earned his surprise call-up to the national team, McCullum was in superb touch for Otago, and will be looking to prove this weekend that his tough introduction to international cricket has not dented his renowned confidence.
He replaces Andrew Hore for the match against England.
In a second change to the Otago squad beaten by Auckland in a State Championship match this week, fast bowler Kerry Walmsley returns from injury to replace Neil Rushton.
Otago: Craig Cumming (capt), Rob Lawson, Simon Beare, Chris Gaffaney, Brendon McCullum, Craig Pryor, Martyn Croy, Nathan Morland, Rob Smith, James McMillan, Kerry Walmsley, David Sewell.
