Paceman Brett Lee will seek a second opinion on his injured elbow before making any decisions about his test cricket playing future.
Lee's future is clouded after a flare-up of his elbow injury just a week before Australia's opening test against the West Indies in Brisbane.
The injury means he has next to no chance of returning to test cricket this summer, with suggestions he could opt to retire from test cricket to prolong his career in limited overs.
Lee said yesterday he would seek more specialist advice on the injury, which may require surgery.
"Most importantly, I have to find out what's going on with the elbow. I'll have another specialist take a look, get two or three opinions and take it from there," Lee said.
"There's still a fair bit of swelling in there.
"I just want to make sure I'm getting the right advice ... I got advice down in Melbourne. I want to get a second opinion today and then just actually try and reassess after that."
Asked if he was contemplating retiring from test cricket, Lee said: "I haven't really thought about that at this point in time. I just want to make sure I get the right advice and try to fix the problem. I still want to play cricket for Australia, definitely."
Former India captain Rahul Dravid joined an elite quartet as his unbeaten 177 on the opening day of the first test against Sri Lanka took him past 11,000 test runs.
Dravid, 36, followed compatriot Sachin Tendulkar, West Indian Brian Lara and Australians Allan Border and Ricky Ponting past the mark.
