KEY POINTS:
Anna Hendry has been a regular scorer for provincial cricket at Eden Park for a decade. During her time in the Eden Park scorers' boxes, Auckland had never lost a game. In fact, she believes they may have won every game in which she officiated - an extraordinary and quirky record.
"It became a bit of a joke that Auckland never lost when I was the scorer," said Hendry, who is finally - supposedly - making good on her wish to retire, despite the constant phone calls to do "one more match".
The curse of Central Districts struck in her last game when the visitors won the final round State Shield match against Auckland on the outer oval last week. A forlorn Hendry, who may keep cricket stats but has lost count of the number of Auckland games she has scored, couldn't quite believe it as she made her way out of the box for - allegedly - the last time.
