KEY POINTS:
Australia yesterday recalled speedster Shaun Tait for the Chappell-Hadlee one-day series.
The big, rangy South Australian has been out with elbow surgery since being part of the World Cup-winning squad in the West Indies this year.
He took 23 wickets at the cup, including three for 32 against New Zealand.
"It's great to see him back from injuries," said Australian chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch.
"Once he was back to full fitness he was going to be strongly considered ... he looks fully fit and ready to go."
The squad of 13 also includes Queensland allrounder James Hopes and New South Wales wicketkeeper-batsman Brad Haddin, and left arm spinner Brad Hogg gets another chance to present his credentials with concern surrounding legspinner Stuart MacGill's fitness before the series against India.
Otherwise it's the usual suspects fronting up for a series Australia will be desperate to win after copping a 3-0 belting in New Zealand last summer.
New Zealand, meanwhile, play a Cricket Australia Chairman's XI today at picturesque Lilac Hill, on the outskirts of Perth, in what has become the traditional launch of the Australian season.
Team manager Lindsay Crocker said it is likely both teams will use 12 players and there are no injury issues to affect selection.
The game provides New Zealand's only warm-up before their Twenty20 game against Australia at the Waca next Tuesday.
