MANCHESTER - England clinched a dramatic victory in the third cricket test against Sri Lanka on the fifth and final day at Old Trafford.
Needing 50 to win from six overs after dismissing Sri Lanka for 308 in their second innings, England got home with six balls to spare.
That gave the home side a 10-wicket win and the three-match series 2-0, their first victory in five test series. Marcus Trescothick was 23 not out and Michael Vaughan reached 24.
Sri Lanka's hopes rested with Russel Arnold, who hit a patient 109 over six hours.
