Wellington made light work of their victory target to beat Otago by 10 wickets in a State Championship cricket match in Dunedin today.
Wellington resumed on the fourth and last day on 47 without loss in their second innings, chasing 145 for an outright result at University Oval.
Openers Matthew Bell and Luke Woodcock ensured their teammates did not need to leave their seats by seeing Wellington to their target before the lunch break.
Their unbroken opening stand yielded 147 runs, with Woodcock on 74 not out at the end while former international Bell finished the match on 70 not out.
Their 222-minute partnership saw Woodcock face 176 balls and hit 10 fours, while Bell faced four fewer deliveries and struck eight fours and two sixes.
It was Wellington's second successive outright victory after they comfortably beat Canterbury last week.
